The CIO Scenario

We have chosen a medium sized Textile company in Europe as the scenario for this CIO game.

The current CIO has left the company two weeks ago for an unknown destination and you have just been recruited as a seasoned IT manager.

Your job is now to revamp the IT department and to help the company to regain its competitiveness. Here are some of the expectations you are going to meet:

Your CEO asks you to implement a few strategic e-Business projects as soon as possible,
your CFO is concerned by the high cost of the IT department and the frequent budget overruns in the past,
your corporate users are frustrated because of frequent network and server failures and
your team is pissed because they are currently forced to work over hours to fix all the problems that are occurring.

To do all that, the CFO has conceded you a one-time budget increase of €300.000, so that you can now put some order in the chaos.
